Roses For Your Garden

Everyone loves to have flowers of quality in their gardens. Roses being the most popular amongst flowers, you would have to be very hard lucked to find one garden which does not contain roses but has everything else. However, when you are trying to choose roses for your own garden you need to be very careful. Also, be prepared because it is something of a chore than an enjoyment. Here we have gathered a few pointers that would help you choose the perfect rose for your garden.

Colour

If you are looking forward to planting roses of your favorite color then stop for a while and consider. In your garden, there must be myriads of other flowers, right? Try and think if the colour of rose you want to plant will match with them or not. There is something called beauty and you just cannot go on planting whatever you want without considering how the whole would end up looking. As such, check so that you know perfectly well what you are doing, making colours clash or blend in your garden.

Size

We all know that roses come in a variety of sizes as well as forms. You can have the six feet tall roses to ones which are creepers or have tiny blossoms. Most importantly keep in mind whether or not they will make your garden look haphazard. Before choosing what size of rose you want to plant it is good if you consider the size of your garden, the amount of space that you can allot for your roses and roses of what height would be the most pleasant.

Maintenance

This is a very crucial aspect of rose planting; they need a lot of care. Therefore, if you are someone who has no time at all and your roses will not be cared for then you need to consider if you will plant roses or not. However, there are certain varieties of roses which need no looking after and therefore being a busy person, you may be well-equipped to handle these than the very high maintenance ones. It is a fact that the high maintenance ones are the ones which give big blooms and sturdy flowers; the low maintenance ones are usually the creepers and the miniature roses.

Climate

After the above mentioned points there is something else that you need to consider and that is the climate. Climate is a big factor more than anything else because this will affect the growth and the quality of your flowers. Most people do not care so much about the climate and plant in whatever climate whichever rose they want. They simply fail to understand that without the quality of climate they are used to they would not grow to even half their size and never produce healthy blooms. So, if you are in a warm climate plant roe which suit that climate rather than going for roses which are meant for colder climates, countries where snow covers gardens for more than five months.

Ultimately however, it is upto you to do what you want to and we can only suggest. If you can spend more time in the garden looking after the plants then you can try planting the “modern rose” plants which are exceptionally long blooming. Also, they are highly fragrant but have a high susceptibility to diseases. But, if you do not want to bother much then you can try one of the older rose varieties which have now proven to be completely free of disease attacks. Also, they will continue blooming for months together and have very beautiful smelling petals. One downside is that if you have someone allergic to heavy smells then it would be difficult for that person with this kind of a rose around the house.
